Hare Krishna in Prague

Yesterday, my Vinyasa instructor played a series of Hare Krishna chants and melodies during class. Naturally, I broke the number one rule of yoga (“Be Present.”) as my thoughts drifted off to the Hare Krishna in Prague. The vast majority of Czechs are atheist with the remainder finding themselves in some category of Christianity. Churches are everywhere though, despite being filled with more tourists than devotees. However, the most visibly devout religious group in Prague are the Hare Krishna, who without fail, every weekend, parade around Old Town, chanting.  They’re Czechs (white, of course). Young and old. With religious beliefs. With eastern religious beliefs. Who chant and play instruments in the former capital of the Holy Roman Empire. It’s astounding.

So, now I chant. Post Grad Life: New life.
